Ave Generosa

Johann Sebastian Bach’s ‘Goldberg Variations’, performed by Malcolm Archer.

“The performance is beautifully paced, with each variation given a considered and individual account, whilst the cumulative effect is as thrilling as the logic is inevitable. One feels one is listening to something which is continually surprising.” – David Bednall

Hugh Benham: Sacred Choral Music

Benham: Sacred Choral Music

The new album from British composer Hugh Benham, available from £5.99

“The music is beautifully crafted, with particularly strong echoes of Bairstow, Francis Jackson, Howells and Poulenc. A setting of ‘Ubi caritas’ in both English and Latin was the highlight for me, but all the works on the disc deserve to be discovered.” Clare StevensChoir & Organ, April 2020

Ave Generosa

Rizza: Ave Generosa

Discover Margaret Rizza’s sacred choral works, available from £5.99

“Largely meditative in style, born of modality, rhythmic plasticity. Such a musical language blends well with the plainsong melodies that are sometimes heard alongside – and even within – the varied choral textures” Christopher Maxim, Organists’ Review, December 2020
