Alberto Nones, Italian pianist and philosopher/historian of music, has joined Convivium Records in 2022. Alberto studied at the “F.A. Bonporti” Conservatory of Music in Trento with Antonella Costa and specialized with Franco Scala and several other distinguished masters. His education goes beyond Piano, including a degree in Philosophy magna cum laude from the University of Bologna, an M.Sc. in Political Theory from the LSE, and a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Trento. Alberto apparently believes music is not just notes, and one can hear it in his interpretations. He is the author of many musicological and other essays, with research experience at the University of Cambridge, Princeton University, the University of Lugano in Switzerland and the University of Trento. Alberto’s background and quite unique profile have brought him to give concerts and talks in Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Switzerland, the UK, the USA, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait. A committed pedagogue, he has more than twenty years of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching experience at a number of schools and universities, among which are the universities of Lugano, Trento, and the UAEU in the Emirates, as well as the conservatories of Como, Gallarate, Matera, and Perugia. He currently serves as Full Professor of the History of Music, with tenure, at the “G. Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro. For his philanthropic and artistic merits, he has been appointed Honorary Visiting Teacher of Piano at the “E. Said” National Conservatory of Music in Palestine. Alberto’s recordings, realized as soloist and with renowned artists, have been presented in Italy by RaiRadio3, Radio Vaticana, Radio Classica and Cemat. Among his recent projects outside of CR, we like to mention a disc, with music by Russian composer Rachmaninov and Ukrainian composer Silvestrov, produced on a 1925 piano counting on like-minded friends as collaborators, with the intent to try to foster peace through music in these troublesome times. Alberto is touring extensively, besides with his beloved Chopin repertoire, also with this other program.
