Jennifer began to learn the flute at the age of seven, under the tutelage of Colin Fleming in Belfast. At the
age of 13, she won the wind section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition and four years later, represented Ireland in the Eurovision Young Musician of the Year Competition. She then attended Clare College, Cambridge where she was awarded an Instrumental Award Scholarship and gained a Masters of Arts Degree in Music.

Following this, Jennifer pursued an active freelance career in London as soloist, chamber and orchestral
musician. Since her appointment as Principal Flute in the Ulster Orchestra, she has been based in Belfast and regularly performs throughout Ireland and the UK.
