The Hogan Ensemble (Choir)

The Hogan Ensemble, established in 2008, is a chamber choir of up to twenty young singers, established and directed by Simon Hogan. Many began their careers as cathedral choristers and now hold prestigious music and choral scholarships at a number of schools and universities. The choir has performed concerts to critical acclaim in many venues in the South West of England and seeks particularly to promote music in a concert setting that is often confined only to a liturgical audience. Its repertoire spans over 500 years from works of the renaissance masters to music of composers of the present day. Recent concerts have included Handel’s Messiah in St George’s Bloomsbury, London, and The Vaughan Williams Mass in G minor as part of a three-day tour around the West Country. The Ensemble’s debut disc, released in December 2010.
