Bruce Ramell (b. 1939) started his working life in high temperature technology, but at the age of 28 felt that he should move across to music. Music studies resulted in him becoming a teacher of music and mathematics, ending up as headmaster of a London prep school. Since retirement, composition and music study have been very active, especially related to work of The Modists.
