Forty next year, US composer Carson Cooman has already written in all the available forms and his music has been much recorded. His oratorio As We Are Changed, with a libretto by Euan Tait, explores the idea of change and transformation in human life and relationships. Rupert Gough and the Choir of Royal Holloway tackle Cooman’s hour-long oratorio head on, with the choir bringing all their generous tone and near-perfect vocal blend to this attractive score. The two soloists are exceptional, and both they and the choir receive fine support from the London Mozart Players under Gough’s secure direction.
