It sounds like fun, and it is; an anthology from 1929 subtitled ‘A gallery of gorgeous drunkards through the ages’ by Rab Noolas (read the name backwards, it’s another Warlock alias). If you want a one-stop guide to the range of Warlock’s interests, his lively curiosity, brilliant wit, sense of folk tradition and musical history, you could hardly do better. Readings and drinking songs from across the centuries, Warlock originals, some lively singing from Ian Partridge, Neilson Taylor and others. Original a Unicorn LP from 1971, accompany it with the tipple of your choice.
